UPDATING MICROSOFT OUTLOOK EXPRESS
This section contains instructions on how to update your
Microsoft Outlook Express settings.
To begin, open MS Outlook Express. On the main application menu
choose Tools, then Accounts.
There may be
several Accounts defined, some may be
for newsgroups or other services. In this example you will need
to find the email account
that currently collects your email from Proweb (UK)
Ltd. If no account has yet been created you will need to create a
new account, click here to learn how.

Select the mail account you wish to
modify. Click the Properties
button to see the Account properties.
Click the Servers tab, you
will need to change 3
items of information on this page, both displayed in red.
First change the Incoming
mail (POP3) value to pop.proweb.net
Second change the Outgoing
mail (SMTP) value to post.proweb.net
Third, change the Account name value to john@proweb.net
Click the OK button to
confirm the changes. You will be returned to the Account selection dialog. Close this and you will be returned to the main application.
To test the account changes you click the Send and Receive button or press Ctrl-M.
If you have a problem at this stage there
are very few reasons why. First of all review the changes you made,
check that you've typed the correct values especially for the
Account name and incoming POP3 server name.
If you're satisfied that you've entered the correct values and
that you have a working Internet connection please contact Proweb
(UK) Ltd support.
